Forum Rules
These rules are common to all of the forums in Charmed Embrace, and they are:
1. No Abusing other users and their beliefs
This means that saying things that could hurt or insult other members in general. Never post just to complain about someone, it's a waste of our time because we have to delete it, and a waste of yours because it'll be deleted and probably get you banned. If there is an issue you want to discuss with somebody regarding the forum, send a U2U to one of our Administrators.
2. No Spamming
Spamming is posting anything that is not of value. One or two word posts like "Thanks" and "Ok" aren't acceptable, and will result in post deletion.
This includes posts such as "Can I please be a mod/administrator?" They aren't valuable to you or us. We pick moderators when we need them, and asking doesn't help in your favour if you're being considered.
3. Use U2Us!
Anything that is personal (such that is not for everyone to chat about) must be done through the U2U system. This forum is not a chat room for you and an exclusive group of friends, it is for everyone; so please, if you want to have a private conversation do it through U2Us.
4. No threads with no topic, only Random Thread is topic-less
Please do not post threads with no topic, they will be deleted. The only threads that have no topic are the 'Random Threads' feel free to chat about anything there, but other rules still apply.
5. Threads MUST be named/labeled appropriately
If you make a thread please name it appropriately, don't post a thread about baseball and call it 'Guitar Playing'. These kinds of title make the forum impossible to navigate.
6. No excessive use of coarse language
Coarse language is innapropriate for use on this forum. In light of this, please do not try and circumvent the filters installed. Anybody found deliberately circumventing these systems will rescive a warning, and be banned for repeats in accordance with the warning policy outlined below.
7. No posting in hard to read text
Please avoid posting text like 'hElLo'(just plain annoying) or typing in all caps like 'HELLO' (considered, on the internet, to be shouting.)
Please also avoid contracting words to single letters or difficult to read 'SMS'speak eg.'you' -> 'u' or 'later' -> l8r'.
8. Only post a topic in the correct forum and make sure it's not already there
Please make sure, before you post, that you are posting in the right forum and that the thread hasn't been started before. If a thread is already in existence, it will be deleted by our moderators. If you want an easy way to check, try searching for some key words associated with your topic before you post it to see if any thread covers it.
9. Stay on topic
Please stay on topic in conversations. It may be hard, but it must be done.
10. Harvesting and other illegal activities
Anyone found using this forum to harvest email addresses, IM accounts etc. will be immidiately banned.
11. Don't give out personal details
This is more or a safety recommendation than a rule, but please don't post things that could make you identifiable to others. For example, never post your address or phone number on the forum. If you want to tell a certain person, use a U2U or instant messaging service. Your posts will be censored if these details are added to avoid people finding your information and ultimately you.
12. Don't pressure people
NEVER pressure people to give you or post something. If somebody wants to send their photo or email-address and so on, they will. If you keep asking, a warning will be issued.
13. Using forum as a means to Access to instant messaging addresses
Anyone that uses the forum to obtain people's Instant Messaging addresses to distress, abuse or stalk anyone will not only be banned, but will be reported to the relevant authorities. This includes any comments that the recipient finds disturbing in any way.
If you are messaged by someone and you would like to report the breaking of this rule, please U2U me, Darryl or any of our administration team.
14. Advertising
Do not sign up to the forum just to post one thread about your website, or worse yet, to post a site in your profile and never come back. Members who do this will be considered as spammers, and will have their accounts emptied of the website.
15. Conspiricy
Due to rescent events, I'll have to write this blatantly obvious rule:
Do not post something which is in anyway:
1. Threatening to somebody
2. Inappropriate for the younger members of this forum
3. Overly contentious
This is not a debating forum, and your strong held political, or personal views don't need to be rammed down people's throats, if you want to mention them, subtlty is key.
These rules are here to make the forum a better place, so please make sure you follow them. Not following then will result in post deletion and maybe even banning from the forum.
Please note: These rules may change at any time without notice. Check them regularly.
CE Members Warning System
When a member breaks a rule, a mod will issue him/her with a warning. After which, his/her member status will be changed from the original title, 'Member' to '*Warned*'
There are various Warning Stages:
1. First u2u to the member stating his/her breaking of the rules: His/Her Status will be changed to *WARNED*
2. Second u2u to the member stating his/her breaking of the rules: His/Her Status will be changed to *WARNED*/
3. Third u2u to the member stating his/her breaking of the rules: His/Her Status will be changed to *WARNED*//
4. Fourth u2u to the member stating his/her breaking of the rules: His/Her Status will be changed to *WARNED*/// and after which he/she will be banned from the forum.
Those / lines are strikes, 3 of those strikes result in a ban that seems suitable, so there are 4 chances for you to clean up your act. If you, as a member, already has a previous record and have been warned again, your current Warning Status will have strikes added to it.
Remember that warned members could be easily singled out as one of the troublesome members on the forum.
Warned Statuses are not permanent, the forum administration constantly reviews the situations. For Warned members who have been behaving, Warned status may be lifted or lessened.
"*Warned*" statuses will also be accmompanied by penalties reflective of the infraction committed.
Examples as follows
Infraction: harassing another member via u2u
