With the Book of Shadows finally in his possession, Zankou (guest star Oded Feher) plans to open the Spiritual Nexus and take in the power of the
Shadow. To divert Zankou's attention away from the Nexus, Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan) successfully
goad him into coming after them instead. Using a spell from the Book of Shadows, Zankou steals Phoebe's premonition power, which enables him to
anticipate and thwart their attacks. The sisters come to the realization that the only way to stop Zankou may be to sacrifice themselves. Meanwhile,
Agent Keyes (guest star Glenn Morshower) from Homeland Security reveals to Inspector Sheridan (guest star Jenya Lano) his suspicions about the The
Charmed Ones involvement with the supernatural. Sheridan volunteers to go into the Halliwell manor with a micro-video recorder and ends up blowing the
sisters' secret wide open.
Dorian Gregory and Brian Krause also star. James L. Conway directed the episode, story by Brad Kern and Rob Wright, teleplay by Brad Kern.

This was an very nicely thought-out and dramatic episode to end the season. I do want to say that it turns out there IS a good reason why the Magic
School had a use to the show after all, not to mention all those trolls, fairies and leprechauns.  Anyway, I doubt they'll just pick up the boys during the first episode back. What I think could happen
(speculation on my part) is they're going to hide around the city or the immediate environs for a while. Wyatt, being that he has that gift of being
able to "find mommy" is going to have the effect of exposing them. Let's say that the Halliwells are somewhere and they're in their "glamour"
selves and then Wyatt appears to them. Do they keep their cloaks and pretend that it is "she" who is the mother or do they reveal themselves? It
obviously would depend on who else sees him. There theoretically can be no control over when Wyatt does something like this. During a previous
episode, there was a reference to how he still has a way to go before being able to discipline himself (the Dragon's Heat episode).
That's one possibility where they can be exposed. However, I am leaning towards some sort of politician taking advantage of a situation in flux. I
doubt we would see someone exactly like Nathaniel Pratt (since that angle was supposedly dealt with back in the second season) but a big politico who
could muck things up for many. Now that the Halliwells' secret has been supposedly revealed and the government has figured out the "paranormal
goings-on", look for more enemies from more mortals than demons. The demons would obviously still be around. I don't know if a new "Zankou" or
"Source" type demon could rise with one season to go but I think a tandem of demons could take advantage of the chaotic situation.
To me, this presents a lot of very good opportunities to explore new angles of the Charmed universe. Being that they are now in cognito and the
Elders aren't going to annoy them for the forseeable future, the Halliwells are going to use the help of other witches in the area, as opposed to
them helping and saving other witches. A fascinating role reversal. This would be the Charmed Ones now going to "cash in the chips" they piled up
from saving those people, mortal and paranormal alike. Since Leo is now with them, he can use his knowledge of the supernatural to guide them
through the maze of uncertainty. He can make a few calls to some people he knows who can help them stay overnight or get ingrediants for potions or
hide from the law, etc.
Now the Magic School is still there. Since the manor is out of their hands they might want to go back there since there are a lot of stuff that can be
used to fight demons. Sorry to those who want that thing gone.  The
writers have left that opportunity open for the time being. Now if the Elders have indeed shielded themselves off, would that also include the Magic
School? Hmmmm 
Look for new supporting characters to come in next season. We already know about this Mark McGrath guy but maybe two or three more (not including the
actors playing the "Glamour P3"). I'm a bit iffy on whether we should see Darryl again. With Sheridan gone (plus her death on tape) and all those
other Inspectors death, it's logical to conclude that he can be gone for good as well. The law is now fully after the Halliwells. If I know the
writers well enough, Darryl could still come back trying to apply some delay tactics but that would require that the law not figuring it all out.
Nah, he's not coming back.
What we might see in the new season:
- More witches and a lot of episodes away from the manor. That would be a good thing. With no Nexus, the manor is no longer their most strongest
point. It's now just like any other house.
- With that, the BoS is stolen again. It may not be by a demon this time. Some new shady characters could, by now hearing of the "Halliwell
magic", be drawn to the book for specific purposes. Sort of like the blond bimbos but more serious.
- The Halliwells may decide to start a new BoS, using knowledge they've gained from fighting demons and warlocks. They may want to make a clean
break from the "Warren witches book" to better shield themselves from harm from sources they could ill afford to face while fighting demons. This
would then become the new "Halliwell legacy" BoS they could pass on to the boys. This would look weird on the surface but it would make sense if
you want to go with the theory that they want a "fresh start".
- I just don't see an accelerated growth for the boys. Maybe more visits from "Future Wyatt and Chris" but not rapid growth of the toddlers. Not
going to happen.
- Obviously, the whole Phoebe-mother prophecy is going to be made happen the next season. What I like to see if whether my hunch is right and the new
child will have a great effect on the growth of Wyatt.
I'll give this episode a 9.7/10.

i loved this eppy i though it was one of the best in a while. Though my head puzzles me, if they are going to obtain new identiys, who is going to
run P3, have the house, things like that. Phoebe won't be able to go back to the bay mirror.

Yup Fate, I was thinking about that too. I loved the eppy but the end gives me a strange feeling. I simply don't know what to think. Maybe, once they
realize what you just said, they'll have to go back to their identities, after all it's their life. Oh well, I don't know, I just don't...

They had left everything to Victor so maybe with the Manor they might decide to try and lease with him, and get hired at P3 or something, who knows
they might even tell him who they are and that they have to keep their identities secret. They are going to have to go back to boys as they said they
can raise the kids for the next generation of Halliwells, didn't they? Anyways this eppy was fab and well done too, their is loose ends but if it was
the series finale I would have been satisfied with it.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned what the charmed ones have appeared to have given up. Not only their lives as people- P3, the house, their jobs
and more, but they might have lost their witch power too (apart from Paige). Did Phoebe and Piper get their powers back before/when Zankou died? Did
the BoS survive the blast? Are the charmed one still ‘charmed’ without the nexus? They’ve nearly lost everything- which is an interesting place
to start next season. I can’t wait!

I love this episode soooo much. Not the best season finale but it's microscopically a close second. (First being Season 3's) Sheridan was getting on
my nerves, blasting her was too easy on her.
In some ways this episode was rather similar to Season 3's fainale. Secret being revealed, lots of police surrounding Halliwell's Manor and very
emotional. But this episode has a hopeful ending and didn't give that oh-so-teasing cliffhanger.
What's with the tradition of closing of door this time? Who closed it? How did Halliwell's door automatically shut? IMO, it's the worst closing door scene.

Heh Freezorb gotta agree with ya on the door. Maybe its just used to by now and though it would do it itself. Or ya never know this maybe a sign prues
back as a ghostie as they used her power.

I don't think that is a given. He used a potion to take their powers and make them his own. They are his... until they cast a spell or used a potion
to get them back. They didnt.

in like season 2 when there powers were stolen, in the eppy 2x17 How to make a quilt out of Americans, the demon gain the girls powers by drinking a
potion made by there aunt gail, now when the demon was killed there powers automatically returned. As there powers are connect to the BOS and so to
there emitions so when Zanko was killed, they must have or been returned to the CO's or the BOS anyhow, on that i still think they must have gotten
them back, as the potion zancok used was basically the same one used in presious eppys!

i know some of u dont agree, but it was a roller coaster of twists and turns,
wat i wonder tho is, REMEMBER WHEN PHOEBE SAID, "our emotions are tied to our powers and our powers are tied to the Nexus",
doesn't that mean they don't HAVE their powers any more?, coz now the NEXUS is destroyed, they may not be the Po3 any more
im not sure tho, coz they were able to turn back to themselves at the end and were able to change Leo,

i LOVED every bit of this eppy,
i think the end closing door bit was Prues way of saying by,
coz her power saved their lives, so she was just letting us know she was their in spirit,

wat about all their stuff in the house?
1) Gorgeous clothes,
2) BoS
3) potions and ingredients
4) the attic and all of prues stuff thats in there, also Grams family witchy stuff
WHAT ABOUT THEIR LIVES?
1) ask phoebe? wats phoebe gonna do? she worked so hard for that jon!
2) p3? thats pipers dream, i'd hate for it to be run by someone else, she made it hers
3) phoebe's college course? remember phoebe went to college for a 2nd time to improve her column
4) wyatt and chris? will their dad look after them?
OMG, I JUST REALISED, future wyatt and chris recognised piper, paige and leo, MAYBE, they dont keep their new identities for some reason?

i went onto drewfullerfan.com, and in an interview type thing with Brad Kern, he revealed:
1) alyssa, rose, brian and holly have all signed on for the next season of charmed!!!
THIS MEANS THEY WILL AHVE TO FIND A CONVINCING STORYLINE TO STAY THEMSELVES, THEY CAN'T USE ANY MAGIC OR SPELLS, AND MUST FIND A human SOLUTION TO
HOW THEY WILL CONVINCE THE VIEWERS THAT IT IS GENUINE. e.g.: they cant use magic dust, pretend it was a dream, cast spells, etc...... coz that will
upset the viewers
2)because of a $100,000 slash in each episode price,
THIS MEANS THEY WILL HAV TO STAY IN THE MANOR, AND CANT CHANGE THE SET LOCATION. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW BRAD KERN WILL OVERCOME THIS HELL OF A
STORYLINE!
3) they charmed ones wil meet a new witch, whom they wil either teach, or she will be very annoying! ( i 4got which one!)

There powers were not exactly tied to the nexus it was only controlled by good magic, I agree witht he powers being tied to there emtions, and the BOS
but the nexus was a netural force (remeber when it took over Leo) it can't desiver between good or evil so how could it be connectted to there
powers. |

The first time i saw it i absoluety hated it but only because i was pissed off because i thought it was the last ever episode.Then the second time i
saw it i just thought it was amazingly,i love it!
